Take the ICO Examinations and qualify for the Fellow of the International Council of Ophthalmology (FICO) designation.
Established 25 years ago, over 55,000 ophthalmologists in 84 countries have taken ICO Examinations to evaluate their knowledge, meet requirements in their countries to practice ophthalmology, and to advance their careers.
ICO Examinations cover Visual Science; Optics, Refraction and Instruments; and Clinical Ophthalmology. Following completion of these three standard examinations, candidates can take the ICO Advanced Examination to qualify for the Fellow of the International Council of Ophthalmology (FICO) designation.
All candidates belonging to ICO Member Societies are entitled to complementary ICO Foundation Assessments to prepare in addition to reduced examination registration rates. Candidates passing the ICO Examinations are assigned additional points when applying for ICO scholarships and awards.
The ICO represents and serves professional associations of ophthalmologists throughout the world.
